Núria Fontanals Torroja

Lecturer

She holds a PhD in Chemistry from Universitat Rovira i Virgili and has been a researcher at the same university since 2007, where she is currently a Lecturer. Her main line of research focuses on two areas: one related to the preparation of new materials, and the other on analytical chemistry for the development of sensitive and selective analytical methods for the determination of organic contaminants at low concentrations in complex matrices, mainly of environmental origin. Specifically, she is an expert in the development of materials with selectivity, capacity, or a combination of both, using different synthesis strategies to adapt them to extraction techniques (such as SPE, SBSE, or PLE, among others) followed by liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry detectors. Her teaching career focuses on analytical chemistry, both in undergraduate programs (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Biotechnology) and in the Master's program in Applied Chromatographic Techniques. She also participates in outreach activities aimed at secondary school students.
